Flea Market Finds

The one thing I miss most about living back in the country instead of the city is the Flea Market.  I lived over 17 years half whick is basically half my life in Raleigh NC which has a very nice flea market.   I was always able to fined good deals there they also had a huge Kids Consignment sale where I could find doll items for cheap.

Now I live back in my hometown there is a large flea market in Newport which is about an 1 hr drive away that I need to find someone to give me a lift.  I really haven't found much there I did however fine a Harley Davidson motorcycle.   I would later find yet anther Harley Davidson that was 1/6th scale but it was a lamp which I took apart.

Hopefully with my dad living close once more we will be able to have outings like we use to when I was young.  Though both of us are slow as turtle's in our old age.

I didn't find much at the small indoor flea market on Hwy 17, don't get me wrong I found a Barbie Booth alot of the dolls I had and plan on selling them myself.  I found and purchased a fur coat that might make Barbie's PETA friends mad.  I also picked up a vase, wicker basket and a nice looking ATV.   The outfit on the doll is also one of my finds!!!!

Wal-Mart Finds

Due to my light sensitivity I am usually up at night and do my shopping at our local Wally-World.   The one closest to our house normally doesn't have the new stuff most times the are far behind but have good clearances items due to overstock.

Although last night for the first time in forever they had some new items from one of the Barbie movies Dolphin Magic.

Still disappointed in the Ken's line, I bought the green striped shirt with jeans, debating on whether to purchase a couple of more to be used as Naval uniforms.

I also came across the new DC Comic Wonder Woman dolls......

The top is painted on this figure which I don't care for.......

Here is Diana Prince out of the box, the other doll wonder woman in her outfit is from the barbie line the horses are from the Cali Girl Line........

Bratz Green Safari Jeep

Finally got the ultimate surf  vehicle I have wanted for a while the green Bratz Jeep.  It was only missing the wind shield which by luck someone was selling one of those on ebay!!!!!

This is my 3rd Bratz vehicle I have 2 of the FM Caddies blue and purple, the detail that MGM put in the vehicles is outstanding.  The jeep has seat belts, brake that moves along with the gear shift.   I wish there was more detail under the hood, I plan on painting the engine to make it more realistic.   I will also be adding some items that will allow for towing, have to get the vehicle ready for Aussie Outback.  I have the roof as well ran out of time yesterday when I was taking the shots in the woods.

Making Ken some RollerSkates

                             How to make Roller Skates

Items Needed:  Finger Boards the cheap kind from the Dollar Tree
                         Small Screwdrivers
Hot Glue Gun or Gorilla Grip something that will bond plastic
                         Ken High Top Shoes

I found that the Dollar Tree Skateboards work the best becasue the wheels and truck are one piece.  What is a truck it is

Unscrew wheels and base

Once removed use glue (craft, super glue or glue gun) to attach to bottom of shoes as seen below:

Real World Jewelry Box = 1/6th Scale Desk and travel chest

Some of my latest finds from yard sales, the first item is a jewelry box that can double as a dresser or a boardroom/lawyer desk.  The bottom two drawers are connected, it didn't take long for me to see it as a traveling wardrobe chest.

Toys r Us Finds

I popped into Toys r US a few days ago just to browse the aisle and see if anything jumps out to me that can be used for 1/6th/Playscale Diorama's.  The first thing that popped out to me was all the mini figures being produced.  That is when I spotted the animal carriers and figures.

These two items would be perfect for mini doll houses or used as ginger bread houses in a Christmas diorama.

On another aisle I came across generic Kelly doll's...........

You cannot tell from this picture but the doll has jointed knee's, I was not able to tell if the arms are as well....
